Middle School (6-8)

Equipping Students for What’s Next

The middle school years are a time of rapid growth – academically, socially, and spiritually. At Family Life Academy, our 6th–8th Grade program provides students with the support and challenge they need during this important transition.

We focus on preparing students for the next step—whether high school, advanced academics, or new leadership opportunities – while ensuring their identity and confidence are firmly rooted in Christ.

What to Expect in Middle School at FLA

1

Challenging Academics

Students engage in core subjects with increasing rigor, developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and study skills that prepare them for high school success.
2

Faith at the Center

Every class is taught through a Biblical worldview, and weekly chapel and daily devotions give students a space to grow deeper in their personal walk with Christ.
3

Enrichment & Exploration

Middle schoolers continue to participate in art, music, technology, and physical education, while also exploring leadership opportunities, student activities, and service projects.
4

Athletics

Beginning in 5th grade, students can participate in organized athletics, giving middle schoolers the opportunity to develop teamwork, discipline, and character both on and off the field or court.
5

Leadership & Independence

As students mature, they are given more responsibility and independence, helping them grow in decision-making, self-expression, and confidence.

Developing the Whole Student

Our middle school program is about more than academics. It’s about forming young men and women who:

  • Are prepared for the academic challenges of high school
  • Understand their identity and value in Christ
  • Can articulate and defend a Biblical worldview
  • Grow in leadership, responsibility, and independence
  • Love others through service, compassion, and teamwork

Partnering with Parents in the Transition Years

We know middle school can be a challenging season for families, which is why we walk closely with parents to support each student academically, spiritually, and socially. At FLA, teachers know their students personally and partner with families to ensure these years are a time of growth and confidence, not fear or uncertainty.
