I am honored and beyond privileged to be a part of the Family Life Academy family and look forward to sharing that family with you and your child.
My first official year of teaching was in 2019. It began with teaching third grade for three years, then fourth grade for one year, and my last assignment was sixth grade, it became clear that middle school is my calling. I love to encourage my students in their learning journey and have found that setting high expectations not only train in setting goals but also teaches discipline to achieve them. I aim to teach and guide my students to thrive and become happy lifelong learners. My greatest goal is that each one of my students feel safe, understood, and accepted in my classroom.
A little bit about me, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona. After years of spending time in my cousin’s classroom and volunteering in several other classes, I knew this was the career for me. Since as far back as I can remember, I wanted to become a teacher when I grew up. I was influenced by the long line of educators in my immediate family.

I enjoy spending my time outdoors, riding horses and playing volleyball. I have played volleyball since the sixth grade from seeing the positive impact it had on my older brothers who introduced the sport to our family. My parents have lived here in Tucson for over 45-years now. They were amazing parents of my two older brothers, and now grandparents to my adorable niece and nephew. My oldest brother who is now in heaven, played a huge role in who I am today. I know, like he always did, is watching over me daily.
My favorite story to tell in about how I became an educator begins with playdates with my grandma growing up. I was blessed with countless days of time with just my grandma, who became my first student. She would ask me what I wanted to do. I would answer the same every time, “We are going to play school. You will be the student and I will be a teacher.” And here I am today, still loving that I get to be a teacher, and look forward to teaching your child. Together, I believe, like my grandma that your child will enjoy their time learning too.
